If you immerse two graphite electrodes in a zinc-coded solution and apply an equal voltage, an electric current flows. At the electrode connected to the minus pole, metallic zinc is formed, and at the electrode connected to the plus pole, iodine is separated. The processes running in the solution are now considered more closely.
Two electrodes plunge into the zinc-coding solution. One of these is directly connected to the minus pole, so it's loaded to a) . This electrode is called b) . It has an electron surplus and therefore attracts c) ions. These ions are called d) , in this example they are Zn2+ ions. From the secretion of zinc at the e) we can conclude that the zinc ions the cathode f) and become g) . Zn2+ + h) → h) .
The electrode connected to the pluspole is called A , it is charged B . It lacks electrons, so it attracts C) . These ions are called D) . For example, I-ions (iodidions). Apply to the anode And then they're going to break down each one of these into E and they're going to become iodine atoms that bind together into biatomic F .
2 G) → 2 I + G) ; 2 I → G)

2 G) → 2 I + G) ; 2 I → G)

Solution: The combination of a non-metal and a metal produces a salt. Z.B. Sodium (=[translation unavailable], Na) + chlorinated gases (=non-metallic, Cl2) reacts to the fresh or chilled, NaCl. Attention, stoichiometry has not yet started.
Respect: there is (a few) exceptions, which not a [translation unavailable] contain, z.B.

Ammoniumnitrat (NH4NO3). - AuthorPosts
